University Circle was awarded LEED Gold (EBOM) certification in 2010. The LEED certification for University Circle was a natural progression of our high Energy Star ratings and ongoing sustainability efforts at the property, which include:

  • Recycling and Composting Programs: University Circle has an active recycling program for paper/cardboard, bottles and cans. We also have a composting program for organic waste, and provide color-coded bins for each tenant space. We partner with Recology of San Mateo to provide recycling and composting services, and encourage all of our tenants to participate in these efforts to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in the landfill.
  • Electronics Recycling: University Circle sponsors an annual Electronics Recycling Day event for our tenants. On this day, we provide a free pick-up service from a state-authorized recycler for electronic waste recycling.
  • Battery Recycling: The University Circle Property Management office accepts all sizes of batteries (up to 9 volts) for recycling.

Columbia Property Trust, the owner and manager of University Circle, was named a 2013 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year.
